Caramelized Croutons with Maple Yogurt and Fresh Berries

These Canadian ingredients are available at your local supermarket.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 300 g cubes of toasted white bread (without rind)
  • 750 g yogurt
  • 125 ml maple syrup
  • 225 g blueberries
  • 225 g raspberries

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Mix honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, and water together in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the bread cubes and turn them in the sweet mixture until they are completely covered. Spread out the cubes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, mix the yoghurt with the maple syrup in a second bowl.
  4. Remove the croutons from the oven, let them cool and break the baked croutons apart.
  5. Pour a few berries into 4 dessert glasses, cover with a layer of yoghurt and place the croutons on top, continue to layer with berries, yoghurt and croutons.
